Developmental Assessments

Are you curious about your child’s developmental progress or concerned about meeting critical milestones? I provide professional developmental assessments designed to give you quick, actionable insights into your child’s growth and areas for support. Whether you’re seeking clarity for your own peace of mind or guidance to share with educators or healthcare providers, I’m here to help.

Each assessment includes a thorough evaluation of key developmental domains, such as communication, motor skills, social-emotional abilities, and adaptive behavior. I utilize evidence-based tools and methods to ensure accurate and reliable results.

Following the assessment, we’ll review the findings together during a phone or virtual meeting. This collaborative discussion will not only explain the results but also provide recommendations for next steps, including strategies you can use at home or referrals for additional services if needed.

You’ll also receive a written report summarizing the results and recommendations, which can be shared with schools, therapists, or other professionals involved in your child’s care.

Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE)

Are you the parent of a child with a disability and you don’t agree with the school’s evaluation of your child? You have the right to request an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) at public expense. This means that the school district would pay for an entirely new and independent evaluation of your child if certain conditions are met!

I can perform an independent functional behavior assessment, including school observations, developmental evaluations, staff and caregivers interviews, and a complete report.

$3500 per independent FBA

Each FBA includes school observations, developmental assessments, behavior management plan (if needed), and a detailed report.

  • Most of OAC’s parent consultation services are done remotely, but if you're in the San Diego area and need an in-home visit, we can make that happen. Many parents love the flexibility of our telehealth sessions!

  • Yes! OAC is now an in-network provider with Aetna and Magellan! Contact your health insurance specialist today!

  • One of the best things about working with OAC is that you have complete control over our meeting schedule. Some parents meet with me every other week, others once a month, and some only reach out when something urgent comes up. You'll never feel pressured to schedule sessions you don't need!

  • Our virtual parent training sessions begin with a quick intake to gather the background information we need to best support your family. During the session, we'll discuss any parenting challenges you're facing, offer practical advice, and demonstrate helpful techniques. Afterward, you'll receive a detailed summary with our recommendations via email. You’re welcome to schedule another session whenever you need.

  • There’s no extra fee for including others! At OAC, we believe that having everyone on the same page is best for your child and family. Feel free to invite other family members to join our group parent training sessions!

  • It really depends on you, your child, and the specific goal. While some things, like learning to follow through with instructions, are easy to understand, being consistent can be a bit challenging. Most parents I've worked with see success in areas like following instructions, getting more involved in sports, or improving the morning routine after just a session or two. Every family is different, but we’ll work together to make it happen

  • If you are a private pay client, there are few things that we can’t work on! Insurance can restrict the goals that we target (e.g., working on academic or school based goals), but private play clients can tackle any problem that is most important to your family!

    From a teenager that won’t stop arguing with you, a 10-year old that doesn’t like to follow directions, toddlers that refuse to try new foods, or a baby that needs to get on a sleep routine, OAC can handle it all!
